About

I started Monumental History to satisfy a lifelong interest in talking with people about the past. I also consider myself to be a pretty regular traveler, and I take many photographs while I’m on the move. When I head to social media to share my photos, I end up becoming just as fascinated by the stories behind those images. So I tend to spend more time putting the captions together . . . I needed a better medium.

The history I’m interested in might not be obvious. So many physical artifacts are still present in everyday parts of our lives — and often in plain sight. There’s so much to uncover.

Why subscribe?

It’s free! For the moment.

Subscribe to get free access to the newsletter and the archives. I’ve turned on paid subs if people want to buy me a coffee now & again, but I won’t be turning on any kind of special paid content for the immediate future.
